Direct your first scene
From an empty project to a finished video in about five minutes.
A scene is a stage (960 × 540 pixels) with a background, some characters and a script of beats: who walks where, who says what, what the camera does. You describe it; the AI Director writes the beats; you adjust anything by hand.
Make the scene
- On Your projects, press New blank scene — or Start from a template to begin with ready-made art.
- Drop your files on the Cast panel on the left: a background, one or more characters, and optionally a dialogue box, portraits and sounds. Tick “I made these files or have permission to use them” first. No art yet? Press Or open the example village scene.
- In the Direct tab, describe what happens in plain words: who starts where, who walks to whom, what they say, how it ends, and roughly how long it should run.
- Press Direct scene. The beats appear in the list under the prompt and on the timeline under the stage.
- Press Play (or Space). Click any beat to jump to it and change it.
- Press Export when you're happy.
Tip Write the scene the way you'd explain it to a friend: “The traveller starts small at the top and walks slowly to the lady on the left. They talk for two lines, then he leaves south. Fade in and out, about one minute.”
Change it
- Adjust current keeps what you have and applies your new instruction (“make the merchant grumpier”, “add a camera close-up when she gasps”). Start over writes a new script.
- Drag a character on the stage to change where it starts.
- Every change can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
The first time you open the Studio, a short tour points at each of these controls. You can see it again from More → Show tips again.
